Hooray for Spring and Summer!

Colleen and Sarah from Braille & Talking Books @ Taylor Community Library had a delightful time assisting users at the Grand Opening.
Spring is still in the air (barely) and I have been a busy bee buzzing around Taylor Community Library. In April, we hosted the Grand Opening of Braille and Talking Books. The opening was a success with 80 or 90 people in attendance. Standing room only!
Since the opening, phone lines have been buzzing with Colleen and Sarah taking calls, while I provide support for complicated questions. Between work and personal life, I’ve had little time to dedicate to Library Access Foundation updates. I’m hoping to get us back on track with monthly updates.

Library Access Foundation received its first check from the Kroger Community Rewards program. Thanks, Kroger.
Some good news for the slightly-neglected Library Access Foundation is our first check from Kroger Community Rewards was $25. Make sure to sign up if you are a Kroger shopper. It’s free for you!
The Foundation has sponsored the first two newsletters for Braille & Talking Books @ Taylor Community Library. We also purchased braille label tape for adding titles to descriptive DVDs. Slowly but surely, we are improving library access for people with disabilities.
Thanks for your support!
The following people donated $100 or more to Library Access Foundation since my last blog post:
Verdun Family and Zyren Family.
Until next time…
Please share this post and encourage friends and family to donate.
Imagine the future,
Vanessa
P.S. You know that cake I was so excited about for the Grand Opening. OMG! It was delicious!
