Imagine a world where Braille and Talking Book Libraries don’t exist, not because of lack of funding, but because all people are able to receive completely-inclusive library services through their local public library.

The world is full of amazing high-tech and low-tech solutions making library collections accessible to people with print impairments, but budgets are often tight. Libraries may not be able to afford special technology or training for staff.

That’s where Library Access Friends* comes in. Library Access Friends is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We seek to supplement the Braille and Talking Books program serving Wayne County, MI. Our federal tax identification number is 47-3735472.

Vanessa Verdun-Morris is the Assistant Library Director and Braille & Talking Book Librarian at Taylor Community Library. She acts as liaison between Taylor Community Library and Library Access Friends.

*Formerly known as Library Access Foundation
